**Mollygram** is one of the most-searched anonymous Instagram story viewers: about 135,000 searches a month in the US alone. People use it to watch someone’s Stories without showing up in their viewer list. This review covers what it actually does, whether it’s safe, and where it stops being useful.

*How we reviewed it:* we read Mollygram’s site and its own description of the service on October 16, 2026. We don’t run Mollygram and have no relationship with it. Klupt makes a competing product, and we say where it fits and where it doesn’t.

## The short answer

- **Mollygram is a free, ad-supported viewer for public Instagram profiles.** Type a username, see what’s public, download what you want.
- **It doesn’t ask for your Instagram login**, which is the main safety test for these sites.
- **It can’t show private accounts.** It says so itself.
- **It’s a lookup tool, not a tracker.** It shows what’s there right now. It won’t tell you what changed since last time.

## What Mollygram does

Mollygram works in your browser, with no app or extension. You paste a public username or profile link and it shows the profile’s:

- **Stories** that are still live
- **Highlights**
- **Reels and videos**, including IGTV
- **Photos** and the **profile picture** in full size

There’s a download option for most of it. The site is available in 12 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, German, Turkish, Japanese and Korean.

One detail worth knowing: parts of Mollygram’s homepage text refer to the tool as **“Storiesig”** and **“anon ig viewer”**. Several viewer sites share templates like this, so the name on the page doesn’t tell you much about who runs it. Mollygram says it isn’t affiliated with Instagram and doesn’t host any content.

## Is Mollygram safe?

On the points that matter most, yes:

1. **No password.** Mollygram never asks you to log in to Instagram. A viewer that asks for your login is the real danger in this category, because that’s how accounts get stolen.
2. **Honest about private accounts.** It says it works with public profiles only. Sites that promise private Stories are lying and usually want your login or send you to surveys. [Why private viewers don’t exist](https://klupt.io/blog/how-to-view-private-instagram-account).
3. **Nothing to install.** It runs in the browser.

The trade-offs are the usual ones for a free viewer. It’s **funded by ads**, so the page carries ad slots. And with so many look-alike domains in this space, **check the address** before you type anything.

## Will they know you watched their Story?

No. When you watch a Story in the Instagram app, your account goes into the owner’s viewer list. Mollygram loads the Story on its own servers, so your account never touches it and there’s nothing to put in that list. The same is true of [screenshots](https://klupt.io/blog/does-instagram-notify-when-you-screenshot-a-story): Instagram doesn’t notify anyone when you screenshot a Story.

## Why Mollygram sometimes doesn’t work

If a profile shows nothing, it’s usually one of these:

- **The account is private.** Nothing will load, on any viewer.
- **The Story expired.** Stories last 24 hours unless they’re saved to a Highlight.
- **A typo in the username.** Paste the profile link to be sure.
- **Instagram is blocking the site.** Every free viewer gets blocked from time to time. When it happens, the site is slow or empty for a while, and some viewers never come back. We checked 47 of them: [which story viewers still work](https://klupt.io/blog/instagram-story-viewer-sites-that-still-work).

## Where Mollygram stops being useful

Mollygram answers *“what is on this profile right now?”* That’s enough for a one-off look. It can’t answer questions about **change over time**:

- **Who did they just follow?** Mollygram doesn’t track follows. Nothing does from a single look, because Instagram doesn’t show another person’s following list in date order. ([Why](https://klupt.io/blog/instagram-following-list-order))
- **Who unfollowed them, or who started following them?** Same problem.
- **Did they post a new Story?** You have to come back and check by hand.

## Mollygram vs Klupt

| | Mollygram | Klupt |
|---|---|---|
| **Price** | Free, with ads | Story viewer is Premium (from $39.99/year, about $0.77/week). No ads |
| **Instagram login needed** | No | No |
| **Private accounts** | No | No (web). Private accounts you already follow work in the [Katch the Ick](https://klupt.io/katch-the-ick) extension |
| **Stories, Highlights** | ✅ | ✅ [Story viewer](https://klupt.io/stories), [highlight viewer](https://klupt.io/instagram-highlights-viewer) |
| **Reels, posts, profile photo** | ✅ | Via the [KluptBot Telegram bot](https://klupt.io/blog/kluptbot-instagram-telegram-bot) (3 free downloads a day) |
| **Tracks new follows and followers** | ❌ | ✅ Checks every hour |
| **Unfollow detection** | ❌ | ✅ For lists up to 1,500 accounts |
| **Telegram alerts** | ❌ | ✅ |

**The honest take:** if all you want is to watch a public Story once, for free, Mollygram does that, and so do several other free viewers. Klupt is worth paying for if you want to **follow an account over time**: it saves a snapshot of their follows and followers, checks every hour, and messages you in Telegram when [someone new shows up](https://klupt.io/recently-followed).
