**RecentFollow** is the biggest name in this space by search traffic. If you've landed on **hisfollows.com**, you've seen it too: that domain redirects to recentfollow.com. Here's an honest look at what it does, what it costs, and how it compares with **Klupt**.

*How we compared:* we read RecentFollow's homepage and pricing page in October 2026 and compared them with our own product.

## Is RecentFollow legit?

Yes, it's a real service. You type a public username and it shows that account's recent followers and following. It also links to a story viewer, post viewer, highlights viewer and a couple of other tools. It doesn't ask for your Instagram password.

What to check before paying:

- **Billing period.** The plan shown in detail is **quarterly**, displayed as $9.80 per week (with a crossed-out higher price and a countdown). Quarterly billing means you pay for about three months at once. Make sure that's what you want.
- **How dates work.** RecentFollow says it sorts follows "from newest to oldest" but doesn't explain how it knows the order for follows that happened before you searched. See below.

> Similar names, different sites: **recently-followed.com** and **recentlyfolowed.com** (one "l") are separate products. Klupt's tracker lives at [klupt.io/recently-followed](https://klupt.io/recently-followed).

## How follow dates actually work

Instagram doesn't share when someone followed an account, and their Following list isn't in date order when you look at it. [Here's why](https://klupt.io/blog/instagram-following-list-order). The honest method is to save a snapshot of who they follow today and compare it later. Anything new gets the time it was **detected**.

That's what Klupt does: a snapshot, a check **every hour**, and each new follow timestamped from then on. Older follows are shown without dates, because no tool can know them. If any tool shows perfect dates for old follows on your first search, ask how.

## Where RecentFollow is stronger

- **More viewers in one place**: posts and highlights as well as stories.
- **Unlimited profiles** on the plan it shows, if you need to watch more than 5 accounts.

## Where Klupt is stronger

- **Short plans.** $3.99 for a week or $9.99 for a month, instead of paying a quarter up front.
- **You get told.** Each new follow comes to Telegram. [How alerts work](https://klupt.io/blog/telegram-notifications-instagram-tracker).
- **Clear method.** You know exactly what the timestamps mean.
- **Private accounts you already follow** via the free [Katch the Ick](https://klupt.io/katch-the-ick) extension, which runs in your own logged-in browser and doesn't bypass privacy.

## The bottom line

RecentFollow is a legit tool with a wide set of viewers. Klupt is the better fit if you want to **check for a week or a month**, get **Telegram alerts**, and understand **what the dates mean**.
