What you can download
- Feed videos, including videos inside a carousel. Each one gets its own download button, or use “All” to save the whole post.
- Reels. Also see the dedicated Reels downloader.
- IGTV and longer videos from
/tv/links. - The cover image of any video, with the small image button next to Download.
- The audio of most Reels, as a separate file. See the audio downloader.
Quality: what “original” means
Instagram compresses every upload and keeps a few versions of each video. Klupt always picks the largest one, usually 1080 pixels wide for recent posts. No downloader can give you better than that, because a higher quality file doesn’t exist on Instagram’s side. The size is shown under each file before you download it.
Where the file goes
- iPhone and iPad (Safari): the video saves to Files → Downloads. Open it, tap Share, then Save Video to put it in Photos.
- Android (Chrome): it saves to Downloads and shows up in your gallery.
- Windows and Mac: it saves to your Downloads folder as an MP4 that plays in any player.
Use what you download fairly
Saving a video to watch later is one thing; re-uploading someone else’s work is another. Ask the creator before reposting, and credit them when you do.
