How to See What Someone Likes on Instagram (What Still Works)
Instagram removed the Following activity tab in 2019, so you can no longer see a feed of what someone likes. Here is what you can still see, the legit ways to check, and why "see their likes" apps are a risk.

Short answer: you can't see a list of everything someone likes on Instagram anymore. Instagram removed that feature in October 2019. What you can still do is check whether they liked a specific post, and watch a few public signals that are still visible.
What happened to the Following tab?
Until October 2019, the Activity section had a Following tab. It showed which posts and comments the people you follow had liked, and when they started following new accounts. Instagram removed it, saying many people didn't know it existed and were surprised when their activity showed up there.
Since then, your Activity section only shows activity on your own content. That change is also why people now use tools to see who someone recently followed: Instagram stopped showing it.
What you can still see
1. Their like on a specific post
Open a post you can see, tap the likes line under it, and search the list for their username. If they liked it, they'll be there.
Two limits:
- The post owner may have hidden the like count, in which case only the owner sees who liked it.
- You can only check posts you're able to open, so not posts on private accounts you don't follow.
2. Their comments
Comments on public posts are visible to anyone who can open the post. There's no comment history for another account, though, so you only see them where you look.
3. Mutual-friend posts
If you and the person follow the same accounts, their likes and comments may surface on posts you already see in your feed (for example, "liked by [name] and others").
Checking one post instead? To see who liked a specific public post or reel, paste its link into the Instagram likes viewer. That works post by post; it can't list everything one person has liked.
What you can't see
- A feed or history of everything someone liked.
- Likes on posts from private accounts you don't follow.
- Who liked a post whose owner hid the like count.
- Story likes, unless it's your own Story.
Do "see someone's likes" apps work?
Instagram doesn't expose anyone's like history, so no app can show it completely. The best they can do is scan public posts for a username, which is slow and partial. Many also ask for your Instagram password, which can get your account locked or stolen. See are Instagram profile viewer apps safe before trying one.
A better signal: who they recently followed
If you're trying to understand who someone is paying attention to, new follows are a much clearer signal than scattered likes, and that data is still public on public accounts. Klupt saves a snapshot of a public profile and shows every new follow from then on, newest first, with an optional Telegram alert. Learn how in how to see who someone recently followed on Instagram.
